Lake Forest Days 2012

Posted on Aug 2 2012 - 8:20pm

Thank you Troop 48! Lake Forest Days 2012 was a huge success! The weather was great and the Troop turnout was inspiring. Thanks to all Scouts and Adults who pitched in from raffle sales to setup to the Parade to the Pop Stand and those who manned the Corn stand into the wee hours! One last Tony Soprano anyone? As usual ASM Al Champ is an inspiration and a role model for service! Particular thanks go to Michael Rohrs for managing the Soda stand from start to finish and to Grant and Kent Brucker for at least 25 hours of service EACH during LF days! Please email if you served hours but were not recorded, this will be important for advancement and Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge.

Greetings Troop 48!
As many of you know, Troop #48 assists the American Legion Post with the Lake Forest Day parade and carnival. For those of you who had Board of reviews at Camp, this is a great opportunity to get started on your next rank! The Troop helps sell raffle tickets, post flags and by setting up, staffing booths and tearing down the Lake Forest Days festival. Lake Forest Day presents a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate leadership AND earn service for advancement and Citizenship in the Community merit badge. For those under 1st Class volunteering will also count as a Troop or Patrol activity! Take a look at the signup pages on the website and sign up fpr the Parade and to work the LF Days concession stand. All scouts are asked to participate in the Parade. PLC members, by nature of Leadership agreements, are committed to participating in the Parade. We will also need Adult Leaders available to supervise the Parade and LF Days concession sales.
