Scribe Update

For those of you that didn’t go on the February Arctic Blast it was, as in the title, a total blast. Scouts arrived at the fire station for a quick load up and were off to Indian Mounds, WI by 6:00 pm. Once everyone arrived at the campground the Dingoes went off with some of the adults in one cabin and the rest of the boys and a few adults stayed in the other. However, there were some brave few that braced that cold outside. The next morning breakfast went rather well with few bumps in the meal. After the meals were eaten and cleaned, a flag ceremony took place outside of the cabins. Once this was finished, boys organized into two groups of ice fishing and sledding. When they were created, each group went to their separate locations. Once the sledding group arrived at the hill, the thirty minute walk was worth it. The sledding hill was filled with shouts of injury and joy, more of the latter. Unfortunately no fish were caught that day. After both groups returned to camp, the patrols split up and ate their lunches. Later the adults decided to take a second group to the sledding hill. This time most boys came and were driven, which was far better than walking. The sledding hill was again lit up with the sounds of boys plowing into each other and having a good time. Once the full troop was back at the camp, dinner needed to be made, so once again patrols split off into their own separate groups to cook dinner. Around 9:00, there was a short campfire and then it was off to bed. The next morning quick breakfasts were made and the cabins were cleaned out. The campout ended with a religious gathering and then it was back to cars to head home. Everyone made it back in one piece and all in all it was a successful campout.
