Do you want to race a car that you have helped build!? Then join us for the 2016 Aptakisic Cubmobile derby. You have worked hard with your Den to build a derby car per race regulations. Now get the chance to race it downhill against other cars in the Aptakisic District.

Bill Avery's Eagle Scout Project

Saturday 4/30 from 11 am to 4 pm; Sunday 5/1 Noon to 4 pm.

The project is to convert a 70 foot by 6 foot dirt patch behind Deerpath Middle School in to multiple raised wooden garden beds, fruit tree planting area and patio area for a storage shed. The area will be used by Deerpath's Enhanced Learning Opportunity program.

Citizen of the Community Merit Badge oppertunity

All interested Boy Scouts are invited to join the Falcon and Viking patrols as they begin the Citizenship in the Community merit badge. This merit badge is required to become an Eagle Scout, so all Scouts who have not started it should consider attending. The group will be meeting on Thursday, April 14, from 6 - 7 pm, at Lake Forest City Hall. Merit Badge Counselors Mr. Holmes and Mrs. Ulrich will be provide an overview of the merit badge process, and the Scouts will complete requirement #4 -- interviewing a government official. Scouts will have the opportunity to interview Mrs. Cathy Waldeck, an elected member of the Lake Forest City Council.

Service Hours Opportunity

For more than 45 years, the local Kiwanis has held a July 4 Pancake Breakfast in Lake Bluff, before the annual parade. This is a major fundraiser for Kiwanis, and all proceeds go to local children’s charities.
